SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Live Edge Design is looking for a motivated Sales Rep to fill out our Sales Department.  As an employer with a focus on sustainability and quality, the applicant should have qualities that fit with our company philosophy of providing an atmosphere of creativity, respect, and professionalism.  

Ideally, the applicant should have a background in sales (furniture, wood or design preferably), with a focus on lead generation and building deep client relationships. The successful applicant will be required to travel locally, and potentially internationally, for sales meetings, trade shows, and other events.

Sales Representative Job Description

Job Summary:

Perform a wide variety of duties under the direction of Sales Manager to ensure an effective operation of the sales division. The Sales Representative  is responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to our clients and customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer email and telephone enquiries; complying with the sales procedure to meet sales targets.

  • Build a collection of generic sales response emails.

  • Maintain accurate records of client contact information, referral data, and ensure the system is up to date.

  • Perform Receptionist Duties

  • Respond to walk in customers and offer guided tours

  • Develop positive relations with clients.

  • Travel bi-weekly for sales missions.

  • Research hospitality leads, RFP’s, RFQ’s and FF&E tenders.

  • Respect and comply with all Live Edge Design policies and procedures.

  • Develop an ongoing communication with Manager on any issues/concerns, store operation, and sales performance.

  • Educate the public, design professionals, stores and the hospitality industry of Live Edge Design’s products. Ensure a constant supply of business cards and promotional material to hotels, resorts, and stores.

  • Handle customer correspondence, complaints and inquiries, reporting to Management for resolution if necessary.

  • Effectively handle credit card sales and follow accounts receivable procedures.

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure showroom is clean and tidy and that the best sales environment is created to maximize sales.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • The Sales Representative may be asked to perform other similar duties as required or as needed;

  • Assist clients with furniture purchases to their vehicles or make suitable shipping arrangements;

  • Marketing research projects to increase sales force effectiveness;

  • Attend events and/or trade shows

  • $17-$20/hr depending on experience

Finishing Assistant

Live Edge Design in Duncan BC is looking for someone to join our finishing department. The position is finishing assistant, working with the product flow manager and other finishers. 

We are looking for a long-term employee, the job is stable and consistently busy, we are a growing company with great staff and we pride ourselves on providing a happy work environment. We have a great reputation for building some of the very best solid wood furniture in North America. Our finish quality is also highly regarded in the industry as one of the best. We are willing to train the right person, training in-house and at wood finishing school at UBC. Live Edge is growing, you have an opportunity to grow with it, grow your skills, cross training in other areas could also be available. We are looking for someone who is career oriented. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

* Finishing booth start-up procedure, the first person in, have booth cleaned and ready for senior finishers. 
* Scuffing LED products after each piece has been sprayed and dried. 
* Prepping all metal product ready for finishing. 
* Spraying LED product, using a variety of finishes, indoor, outdoor and metal finishes. 
* Keeping work station clean and tidy, free of debris, cleanliness is of high priority in the finishing area. 
* Moving, organizing product. 
* Booth maintenance, cleaning and changing filters, cleaning gun parts, sweeping and vacuuming etc. 

Work Load and Remuneration: 

This is a full-time position with an expected workload of 40 hours per week. Based on qualifications and experience. Live Edge has a comprehensive benefits package after 3 months of employment and a profit share plan. The work week is 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4.30 pm until trained, then hours will be 7 am to 4 pm.
