John Lore is the owner and founder of Live Edge Design, and someone who doesn’t take “no” for an answer. He is focused on delivering a message of real world authenticity and quality. He is inventive, Persistent, Nature-loving.
When not designing furniture, John loves pointless intellectual pursuits like Scrabble, Bridge, Chess and Sudoku. Non-Intellectual passion: tree houses. He credits his parents and beautiful wife Dorothy for keeping him from starving while getting the business off the ground.
"Sunshine is a Turkish Angora feline who is the only cat in the world that dislikes cuddles. He loves to be outside and will always leave rats outside my front door like an unfortunate birthday present."
"There is no shortage of dust at Live Edge Design. There is in fact so much that I’ve come to think I collect it, based on how much I track home."
"My favorite thing that I’ve seen come out of the shop was the very first Yin Yang dining table. The grain was gorgeous and flowed around the center like a whirlpool.."
"My favorite tree is the Big Leaf Maple. It is sought after by wood turners and musical instrument makers for its colour and figure.. Every log is different and opening them up with the saw is like unwrapping a surprise Christmas present."
"My celebrity crush is Wonderwoman. She is a skilled fighter and I like her backstory and character. Plus she tends to be more bloodlusted in her fights than Superman at times . . . "
"My favorite book right now is "The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared" by Jonas Jonasson. This inventively funny book was given to me by my father-in-law for Christmas one year, sparking up some quirky, yet, interesting conversations . . . "
